The delegates keep coming in for the conference Mobile Copenhagen on June 19th and we have talked with some of them on their expectances for the conference and how the mobile perspective will fit into their plans for their business.
The keyword is freedom to reach their customers 24-7, 7 days a week, where ever the customers are. In our world today, we use our mobile phones the same way we used our computers for less than 2-3 years ago. We got 2 gigabyte hard disk processors which are more powerful then a computer for a few years ago and we are connected all the time.
Digital home range In the world of animals we describe what is called a home range. The home range is that area where the animals move around within their life. Some have a large home range and again others have a small home range.
The home range – or let us call it the digital home range for the human being – is expanding every day. The modern technologies help us stay online, be connected, and be able to work wherever we are. It does not matter if we are at are meeting in Copenhagen, London or Paris we got exact the same possibilities.
This is a truth against old fashioned ways of thinking content, marketing, and applications. Today we must mobilize our mindset and meet the customers when they are ready to meet us. We have talked with representatives from Bayer CropScience and The Danish Military. They know that changes are going to happen and that is the reason for them to attend Mobile Copenhagen. It is the realities of our new world and you have to change yourself and your way of thinking in order to reach your network or costumers.
Who are coming? The number of delegates is promising and among them are many different companies from a long range of sectors. We got representatives from the largest newspapers in Denmark, some of the large brand companies, venture founds and companies with offices world wide. They have all understood the new way of thinking in a future mobile world. Are you among them? Is your company represented at this new meeting place for all in the future mobile business?
Remember to sign up today, it is the only way to be sure to get an accreditation for the conference.
According to research from PQ Media, the U.S based provider of media econometrics data, branded entertainment marketing activities in the U.S have increased with 14,7% in 2007 and is expected to grow by another 13.9% in 2008 to reach $25.41 billion. The results of the analysis show that despite sluggishness in the economy this market segment will continue to grow as brand advertisers turn their spending on alternative channels.
Three major segments PQ Media defines branded entertainment as “marketing strategies that integrate products into entertainment venues that typically provide high engagement and interactivity.” Branded entertainment marketing affects three major segments which can be implemented using mobile:
1. Event sponsorship and marketing
2. Product placement
3. Advergaming and webisodes (or on mobile: mobisodes)
“Even without an economic slowdown, there are strong secular trends driving investment from traditional advertising media to alternative marketing strategies,” said Patrick Quinn, President & CEO of PQ Media. “Americans are spending more time outside their homes, online at work, communicating via wireless devices and multitasking with various media, which has created a generation of elusive consumers for brand marketers to try to reach. And these trends have led to increased investment in alternative marketing tactics.”
These habits described by Patrick Quinn have been predominant in Japan for years – and there is no reason to believe that the European consumers will behave much different than the Americans. Branded entertainment marketing activities will also grow in Europe – the first examples have already been starting to show up.
At Mobile Copenhagen there are speakers representing events which both have great potentials of feeling the brand advertisers increased awareness of branded entertainment marketing on the mobile.
Roskilde Festival and Norwegian Football Association This year North Europe’s biggest Rock Festival launches a mobile commercial community where the 75000 festival guests will be able to follow the activities and events during the festival week. As advertiser it may be a dream to be able to send messages via the community to the festival guests – hear about the plans at Roskilde Festival on Mobile Copenhagen.
In Norway – as everywhere else – they love football. As a result the Norwegian Football Association has established a mobile solution which makes it possible for all the fans in the two major leagues to follow their preferred clubs and results in the tournaments. In Norway they already have gained the first experiences with advertising – indeed an example of content providing and advertising worlds meet and create valuable advertainment for the users.
Multiplayer games on mobilephones The US/Germany based company Exit Games has extensive experience in making gaming solutions on cross platform communities. The company has also started to offer solutions where content providers or advertiser are able to push the awareness of their products via games which involve their users and create closer exposure toward the user than perhaps seen on other media.
Meet them at Mobile Copenhagen All three cases above are examples of branded entertainment marketing which can tickle the users’ engagement and create experiences of interactivity with your brand, service or product. Come to Mobile Copenhagen and get the inspiration on how to shift spending away from more traditional channels to new channels which are closer to the users’ hearts and attention.
The experts claim that the mobile phone is the seventh mass media. The other six mass media are: Print, music recordings, movies, radio, TV, and PC-based internet. They have all six played a major role the every day lives of all people on this earth. And the seventh media is predicted to play an equally major role for all people.
